Artist Statement

When caterpillars enter the cocoon, they turn into literal goo. I felt like I was in a cocoon during covid for obvious reasons, but I kept reminding myself that a caterpillar turns into a butterfly in that goo. I definitely felt like I was a pile of goo most of last year. While I'm not ready to fly, I am out of my cocoon and drying my wings off. I think most of us are.
