Originally from the UK, Sue Hossack now resides in Christiansburg with her husband Mike Crawley. She began taking art classes after she retired in 2012, having spent 30 years as a software engineer followed by 10 more years as an occupational therapist.

Her preferred medium is acrylic but she also paints with ink, and watercolor. She is fascinated by the play of light on water, and the effect of shadows, which is noticeable in her paintings of trees, animals, and boats. She also makes stained glass pieces. She has a studio in Christiansburg  with two other artists. 
 
She is the secretaru and web administrator of the Blacksburg Regional Art Association http://www.blacksburgart.org, and manages the BRAA co-op, The Art Space @The Artful Lawyer
She has shown her art at Art Pannonia, The Artful Lawyer, and the Montgomery Museum.
