Artist Statement
My art is a series of whimsical/stylistic paintings/drawing all revolving around flowers from my imagination. I started these in April, 2020 to have something positive to post daily during the pandemic. Submitted photo is only one example and colors and sizes, shapes, etc vary greatly.
About the Artist
Sam Linkous is a retiree who stays busy pursuing his love of photography, creating his art, playing Old Time music, and simply enjoying life. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Art and a Master's degree in English with concentration in Appalachian Literature and Folklore, and Photography. Creating his flower paintings has been a way of sharing his art during the pandemic. He and a friend co-wrote a book entitled "Blooming Valley" to coinside with his illustrations, which he hopes to publish at some point.
