Artist Statement
About the Artist
My art has always been a way for me to escape reality. Being creative helps calm my mind and is in a way my form of meditation. I like creating art that is whimsical and colorful. When someone looks at my art I hope it brightens their day.
My name is Rebecca Noonkester. I am a self-taught artist that lives in Blacksburg. My love of art began at a very early age when I would color and draw on anything I could get my hands on. With no formal art education I did not think it was possible for me to take my art to the next level. Then I discovered acrylic painting tutorials on YouTube. This first time I picked up a brush I fell in love. Now I make it a goal to do something creative every day.
