I typically draw animal portraits but for this theme I wanted to sketch my little “animals” at a moment in time that was sweet and uncomplicated. It was a cool, January beach day, but the sun was shining and they were working together to make their creation. I used my favorite uncomplicated medium of a stick of vine charcoal to convey that cool feeling of a winter beach and the fading of memories like an old black and white photograph.
