The pad lock symbolizes being shut out, closed off from ordinary events and the abandoned church represents small meetings and encounters now missing from daily lives.

In my old house there is a double door. Once it had 2 etched glass windows.  One was broken many years ago.  The winter sun sets behind the hill across the street creating a mixed scene, snowy landscape and etched glass both showing and blocking the setting sun.  It was something to watch during the quiet solitude of Covid.
